After losing my job as art gallery curator, during covid, I began perfecting a stake design that originally was just for me. At some point I decided they were too good to keep to myself and needed to be shared with weight-conscious outdoors enthusiasts everywhere. After much experimentation, research into materials and processes, real-world testing, and feedback the design was ready to go public. I now have provided stakes to folks all across the country and internationally. They are carbon fiber with aluminum reinforced ends, and on average weigh 3 to 3.5 grams each, depending on set up- that’s the lightest stake out there! I started making atStakes on my kitchen table and still make all of them, myself, by hand.
